Daybreak Youth Services is the innovative leader in the treatment of teen addiction and co-occurring mental health issues across Washington State. It is our mission to save the lives of young people in our community by demonstrating love and bringing hope for their future. We are currently hiring a Behavioral Health Nurse with an active RN license in the state of WA at our Spokane Inpatient Treatment Center working with adolescent girls. This is a part time position. As a Behavioral Health Nurse you will work directly with our floor staff and treatment team to provide leadership and treatment guidance, playing an active role in the life-saving treatment of our most vulnerable adolescents.  

Behavioral Health Nurses at Daybreak are responsible for the direct care of the residents, facilitating their recovery through social interaction and traditional therapies.  This includes directing, coordinating, monitoring, and assigning duties to staff on shift to assure a safe, secure,and therapeutic environment.  At times you may be called to act as a team leader during crisis situations and to provide hands-on decision making.  You will be asked to perform admission assessments, implement physician orders, administer medications, and provide overall care for our teenage clients. You will also work with both our clients and their families to educate them about substance abuse, psychiatric disorders, and the importance of following the treatment program. You will thrive in this environment if you have both passion and experience with mental health, enjoy with working with teens in crisis, and can be the calm voice in stressful situations.  

Compensation: starting at $35.00 per hour, non-exempt.
Education/Experience: BSN preferred.  Previous experience working in inpatient psychiatric units and/or substance use treatment facilities preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:  Must have an Active WA RN license and current CPR Certification.
Shift: Day

No history of crimes against persons, as per RCW 43.43.830. Continued Employment will be based on the employee's Criminal Background Clearance by DLR/CPS. Drug screen and TB test are requirements of employment.
