Description
Daybreak Youth Services is the innovative leader in the treatment of teen addiction and co-occurring mental health issues across Washington State. We are currently hiring for part-time Client Transport Staff (Drivers) for our Spokane Inpatient facility, 20 hours a week with variable days/hours/shifts depending on business needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Client Transport/Driving staff are responsible for the safe transportation of Daybreak clients to and from appointments. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
  • Safely and securely transports clients via Daybreak vehicles to and from appointments
  • Creates positive, safe environment for clients; de-escalates volatile situations as needed
  • Participates in required trainings with Skills Coach staff
  • Runs errands as requested by staff
  • May require some on-call availability
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a High School degree or GED
  • Transport/Driving experience preferred
  • Clean driving record: no accidents or tickets
  • If willing to drive own vehicle, must have appropriate insurance (100k bodily injury/300k property damage)
  • Experience working with youth strongly preferred
Certificates/Licenses:
  • Must be able to obtain AAC certification within 60 days of hire
  • Must have current TB test or ability to get one prior to employment
  • Washington State driver's license 
Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
  • Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk, and hear
  • Occasionally: stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 20 pounds, and stoop/crouch
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness)
Mental & Other Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the:
  • Computer/Technical Ability: some knowledge of:
    •   Microsoft Office Suite: word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic communications
  • Language Ability: ability to read, analyze, and interpret maps, directions, general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, organization correspondence, and marketing/outreach materials; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, clients, guardians, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Motor Coordination: the ability to coordinate eyes, hands, fingers, and feet accurately and handle precise movements required for successful operation of vehicle.

Within 30 days of employment must be able to obtain: Adult CPR and First Aid certification. Must be able to become an Agency Affiliated Counselor. 

No history of crimes against persons, as per RCW 43.43.830 to meet Agency Affiliated Counselor requirements. Continued Employment will be based on the employee's Criminal Background Clearance by DLR/CPS.
