Daybreak Youth Services is the innovative leader in the treatment of teen addiction and co-occurring mental health issues across Washington State. It is our mission to save the lives of young people in our community by demonstrating love and bringing hope for their future. We are currently hiring a Primary Counselor (SUDP/T) to join our team at our Brush Prairie Inpatient Treatment Center working with adolescent boys. This is a full time position offering competitive benefits and paid time off. As a Primary Counselor (SUDP/T) you will work directly with our floor staff and treatment team to provide leadership and treatment guidance, playing an active role in the life-saving treatment of our most vulnerable adolescents.  

The Counselor is responsible for case management, individual counseling, family counseling, and group counseling for their assigned clients. This role will establish individual client treatment plans which include treatment and discharge planning and monitoring progress towards treatment goals through discharge. This position will maintain case records in compliance with agency standards and federal and state regulations. The Counselor will interview clients in order to obtain information and insight regarding clients' conditions and needs along with running groups with individuals, groups and families to teach clients in regards to substance abuse, parenting, and adolescent development.The welfare and safety of the clients entrusted to our care is the primary responsibility of all Daybreak Youth Services staff.

Compensation: starting at $16.57 per hour (SUDP/T license), non-exempt.
Education/Experience: Must have an Associate's degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:  Certification as a SUDP/T required.  

No history of crimes against persons, as per RCW 43.43.830. Continued Employment will be based on the employee's Criminal Background Clearance by DLR/CPS. Drug screen and TB test are requirements of employment.
