Daybreak Youth Services is the innovative leader in the treatment of teen addiction and co-occurring mental health issues across Washington State. We are currently hiring for a Food Service Worker for our Brush Prairie Inpatient facility. This is a full time position (30 hours+), offering competitive benefits and paid time off. 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for cooking and providing meals and snacks to the staff and clients. Helps maintain City, State and Federal guidelines for clean and sanitary food delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
  • Cooks, prepares, serves and cleans up after all meals.
  • Prepares all meals as outlined in the recipe notebook.
  • Promotes working as a team player.
  • Participates in maintaining all food service environments in a clean, sanitary, safe, and well maintained condition while meeting all City, State and Federal guidelines.
  • Uses agency software programs to document meal planning, correspondence, reports, budgets, and menus.
  • Enters all data in the state reporting system (School Lunch Reimbursement).
  • Maintains filing system for reimbursements, in order to assure appropriate retention and ready retrieval.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a High School degree or GED.
  • 2 years of Institutional Food Service experience.
  • Understanding of State and Federal requirements and have ability to document these established standards around the food service arena.
  • Washington State driver's license preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • Washington food handlers card.
  • Must have current TB test. 
Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
  • Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk, and hear
  • Occasionally: stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 20 pounds, and stoop/crouch
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness)
Mental & Other Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the:
  • Computer/Technical Ability: in-depth knowledge of:
    •   Microsoft Office Suite: word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic communications.
    •   Nutrikids Software or similar software for Food Service Management.
  • Language Ability: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, organization correspondence, and marketing/outreach materials; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, clients, guardians, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Motor Coordination: the ability to coordinate eyes, hands, fingers, and feet accurately and handle precise

Within 30 days of employment must be able to obtain: Adult CPR and First Aid certification. Must be able to become an Agency Affiliated Counselor. 

No history of crimes against persons, as per RCW 43.43.830 to meet Agency Affiliated Counselor requirements. Continued Employment will be based on the employee's Criminal Background Clearance by DLR/CPS.
