The Family Advocate/Partner is responsible to serve the family and help them engage and actively participate on the team and make informed decisions that drive the WISe process.


  • Communicates community resources, services and support programs that are available for families.
  • Communicates and educates agencies on the importance of family voice and choice as key elements in making the wraparound process successful.
  • Approaches youth, families, and professionals in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • High School degree or GED.


  • Certified as a Peer Counselor per the Department of Social &Health Services.
  • Must have current TB test
  • Hepatitis B certificate preferred

Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any extreme noise, heat, cold, or atmospheric conditions or to any workplace hazards or potential injuries that are any more frequent than normal. Multi-tasking in a face paced environment is an integral part of this position, as is the ability to work with high-stress situations based on the nature of DYS mission and daily work.
