As a Skills Coach you will work directly with our most vulnerable adolescents coaching them on life skills, appropriate decision making, and self regulation; playing an active role in their life-saving treatment. We are currently hiring Skills Coaches to support our Sunrise Shift at our Brush Prairie Inpatient Treatment Center working with adolescent boys. This is a full time position offering competitive benefits and paid time off. Sunrise Shift shift schedule typically runs from 9:30PM until 7:15AM. Skills Coach shifts typically include a least one weekend day.

Skills Coaches at Daybreak are responsible for the direct care of the clients; monitoring, coaching, and documenting their behavior. You serve as a role model for appropriate behavior. You will be asked to initiate conflict resolution strategies, attend required staff meetings and trainings, supervise recreational activities, transport clients to their required appointments, develop solid relationship with clients and build trust. You will thrive in this environment if you have both passion for mental health and working with adolescents from hard places, enjoy with working with teens in crisis, and can be the calm voice in stressful situations.

Compensation: Starting at $15.00 per hour, non-exempt.
Education/Experience: Experience mentoring and/or coaching teenagers. Knowledge of the effects of alcohol, drug abuse, and adolescent development. Experience coordinating and leading activities for adolescents is preferred. Experience working with at risk teenagers, mental health support, substance abuse disorder support highly desirable.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be able to obtain an AAC certification within 60 days of employment.* Must be able to obtain a food handler's permit. Valid driver's license. Current First Aid/CPR certification and certification in HIV/AIDS desirable.
Shift: 9:30PM until 7:15AM, four days a week including at least one weekend day

No history of crimes against persons, as per RCW 43.43.830. Continued Employment will be based on the employee's Criminal Background Clearance by DLR/CPS. Drug screen and TB test are requirements of employment.
